Beautiful tastefully restored old stone housing, part of the original mill. The garden is full of cherry and almond trees in blossom (in spring). Next to a forest full of chestnut trees inhabited by cuckoo, woodpecker and a thousand other species of birds and the river which feeds the old mill. The immediate area has such beauty, I kept expecting Julie Andrews to appear at any moment and start singing the "The Hills are alive, with the sound of music"! The houses have open fires with a plentiful supply of wood, everything was working, the heating was automatic so it was never cold in the house. There are amazing farm tools as decoration (I assume from the original mill) which adds a touch of authenticity. At night the peace and quiet is almost deafening! The kitchenette really is a kitchenette so don't be expecting to cook 4 course dinners for 6 people but its more than sufficient for most needs. There are no basic ingredients (salt, pepper, oil, herbs etc.) so bring if you intend to cook. Besides with all the wonderful places to eat in the area, why cook when you are on holiday! A simple but sufficient continental breakfast is supplied and topped up every day. Fresh coffee, hot chocolate, tea, sugar and milk are supplied. Cannot wait to return in the summer. 5 Stars

Eu e a minha família gostámos imenso de Puerto Roque. É muito perto de Portugal, onde viemos várias vezes. O local é muito calmo e tem uma piscina onde crianças e adultos se podem divertir. O única coisa que poderia ser um pouco melhor era a oferta de pequeno almoço, não havia nada fresco era tudo 'enlatado', poderia haver peças de fruta, um pão de melhor qualidade, iogurtes. As senhoras que tomam conta do local são muito simpáticas e prestáveis. Possivelmente iremos repetir.

Pleasant surroundings with well kept garden and pool. Apartment comfortable and spacious. A few negatives: towels were rather old so thin and 'grey'; kitchen equipment poor with a rusty pan and no kitchen knife. Sheet on double bed not wide enough to tuck in at sides and therefore was ontop of the mattress by the morning. Breakfast bread not fresh every day - in fact I think mine was not changed the 8 days I was there.
