The beautiful estate of Casa Agrícola da Levada is located directly on the banks of the River Corgo, in the quiet village of Vila Real in the north of Portugal. Surrounded by forests, terraced gardens, vineyards and orchards, this charming bed & breakfast will offer you the relaxation you deserve.

Casa Agrícola da Levada has been in the family since 1918. As is customary in the region, farmworkers lived on the premises. At that time, a self-contained and autarchic hamlet was created with a few stone houses as well as a mill, an olive press, a winery and a distillery. Over time, the family had to find alternative sources of income and decided to open a rural bed & breakfast in 1992. Since 1999, the granite houses on the site, some of which date back to the 17th century, have been lovingly restored so that they are now offered as self-catering accommodation.

All double rooms are on the ground floor of the main house and are furnished with period furniture. From here you have access to a communal living room with a fireplace. Because all bedrooms have retained their small original windows, they can be a little dark. The cottages and studios, on the other hand, have been newly furnished with comfortable furniture and modern kitchens. There are houses of various sizes, accommodating two to nine people. All have access to a private terrace with a barbecue area.

The organic continental breakfast is only included for guests in the B&B rooms. Guests in the cottages are provided with fresh bread daily. A breakfast basket can also be delivered to your home for an additional fee.

The accommodation is an ideal destination for all travellers for whom sustainability and environmental awareness are very important on holiday. Casa Agrícola da Levada was awarded the Green Key certification in 2019, as they are committed to reducing waste and energy and water consumption. Thanks to the many trees on the property and the solar panels on the roof, Casa Agrícola da Levada is climate positive.

At the same time, this ensures a relaxing holiday feeling: the 7-hectare site between the Douro Valley and the Alvão Nature Reserve is the largest green area within the urban area of Vila Real! Here, large gardens and forests await you, combined with the floral and fruity aromas that will delight you on a walk or a bike ride. There is a lot to discover in the surrounding area. For example, visit the market in Vila Real or the historic Casa de Mateus mansion, where events are often held.
