Barcelona seems to have done it again. One of the newest additions to the city’s portfolio of hotels has also instantly become one of its best value for money and design orientated accommodations - the Praktik Rambla. Being situated just off the Plaça Catalunya (think Trafalgar Square in London or Place de la Concord in Paris) means the location is superbly central as well. From the outside, it looks like a typically beautiful historic Barcelona building with delightful pillars and balconies adorning the facade. Inside, a superb renovation has taken place to such good modern taste that calling the Praktik Rambla a “chic boutique” hotel does not do it full justice.

The Praktik Ramblas sparkles inside with a design that is both snug and cool, a trick that is not easily carried out. As we have often seen in our travels, this type of hotel is often super modern but rather cold in atmosphere or either comfortable but somewhat on the dowdy side. Here it’s comfortable, chic and vanguard all in one well rounded package. This is true for all areas of the hotel, whether the beautiful lounge or the bedrooms themselves, which are also pretty large, quite eye-catching in their attention to detail and come with modern TVs and safe. Such excellent rates may have one slight drawback for some. There are fewer facilities on offer when compared with some other more expensive alternatives. For example, there is no full room service as such, gym or pool. Then again, that was partly the idea behind the Praktik Rambla. For an excellent price you get a location that could hardly be better, a modern decor that is spot on and, last but not least, friendly personnel that help you deal with questions you may have during you stay in beautiful Barcelona. So, for chic boutique in the very heart of Barcelona at a great rate this must be the most “Praktikal" choice.
