Tower House

The Tower House is a traditional Portuguese house remaining in the same family for several generations. Its origins date back to the medieval age but later got rebuilt in the 18th century. It has undergone many renovation interventions over the years in order to improve comfort, well-being, and modernity while maintaining the house's original architectural traces and elegance.
The charming house sleeps up to nine people, offering four double rooms, one double sofa bed, two complete bathrooms, a living room, and a dining room with a cosy fireplace. There is a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need including an oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and a coffee machine. The property is located at the base of the stunning "Cabreira" sierra, just five minutes from the center of Cabeceiras de Basto and forty minutes from Braga, the district capital in the Minho region. If you are a mountain lover, the area is perfect for you as there are many hiking trails in the area: " Veiga , Pisão and Papas" are the most famous ones, offering a beautiful scenery of the fauna and flora of sierra.
The location of the Tower house is very convenient: beautiful cities such as Porto, Braga and Guimarães, are all less than an hour away with easy access to modern motorways. If you want to explore gorgeous beaches, the famous Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim beaches, are only 45 minutes away.
Nearby, you can visit the ancient water mills Moinhos de Rei and the watercourse Levada da Víbora, the Oural Dam, the Porto de Olho viewpoint and fantastic hiking trails. Concerning the cultural patrimony of Cabeceiras de Basto, you should visit S. Miguel de Refojos Monastery, Arte Sacra Museum, Terras de Basto Railway Museum, Casa do Tempo (Time House) and Casa da Lã (Wood House).
