Keeping the touch of Alentejo area of Portugal, the Herdade das Barradas de Serra is simple, uncomplicated and unhurried. As a wise traveller once said about this region "it is one of the last spots where you really have freedom". Once you spend some time here, you will know what he meant. It all makes for a perfect antidote to stress and a pretty bewitching brew.
This particular accommodation is located at the foot of the Grândola hills and surrounded by a forest of oaks and cork trees that seem to go on for ever, past the valleys and hills. It is a peaceful place but at the same time a 800 hectare working farm that has been in the hands of the same family for over five generations, producing cork and breeding sheep – you’ll see a lot of these here. And this family does know a thing or two about hospitality.
The Herdade das Barradas da Serra is a source of pride to the Dias family and it shows in everything they do. It is peace allied with comfort, the ten rooms all come with air conditioning plus sitting area. It is recommended to visit the many unique charms of the areas, one of which are the superb Atlantic beaches 15 minutes away.

Limpio, ordenado, silencioso... No me importara volver.
A rural accommodation at its best

The Barradas da Serra Estate is rural accommodation at its best. The estate is large and there are four trails for you to follow to explore for yourself. If you’re looking for a remote and peaceful holiday, you could easily stay here for a week or two." The Traveleditor.com
