Blue House

We've had the most wonderful stay in Sofia's Blue House! This house has so much charm. We felt the warmth with which the house was built, decorated and lived. We enjoyed the complete silence and calmness of the location: on a mountain with beautiful views, no one is passing by, far away from "the world" completely surrounded by nature and yet only a 15' drive away from Grandola where you can find everything you need or from the beaches. The house is named the Blue house but there are actually 3 Blue houses :) The large table under the thatched roof outside the main house has been the beating heart where we gathered for breakfast, lunch (if not taken by the pools) and dinner. Although the kitchen is not that big, it is very well equipped and everything you need to cook is present. Do close the kitchen window at night because there is a cute little cat wandering around at the site. The extra fridge, freezer and washing machine (in a separate storage shed) are absolutely a plus! The 2 bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with two bunk beds) both have an ensuite bathroom (shower, sink and toilet; bath towels, hairdryer, soaps and shampoo present) and there is a 3th separate bathroom on the mezzanine floor where there is also another smaller double bed. The dining and living room have not been used much due to the nice weather and the various places on the site to sit and relax. And there is another "hidden" terrace at the back of the main house! The 4th bedroom, decorated with the same taste as the rest of the Blue House, is in a separate cottage. The ensuite bathroom has a bath, sink and toilet and is equipped like the other bathrooms. All the rooms have plenty of closet space and coat racks. Beds are covered when arriving, enough bath- and kitchen linnen are present as wel as kitchen supplies. The third part of the house is the large patio with several bed seats / lounges with a lot of pillows, ideally to take an afternoon nap or read a book in the shade while feeling outside. The "pool-space" is also very charming. Two water retention basins connected by wooden terraces surrounded by threes and shrubs are the ideal spot to cool down when it's very hot. On the well maintained site there are several "transat" lounge-chairs so you can always find your own perfect spot! Sofia, who lives during the summer in her White House 200m away, is very "accesible" if you have questions or problems or you need information but never intrudes. The perfect host! When we arrived, we instantly felt relaxed, could leave our hunted live in Belgium behind and start enjoying this truly secret place!
