Northwest - What to see and do

County Donegal is a beautiful region located in Northwest Ireland. Here you are able to explore the 300km long coastline with endless hiking opportunities. If the stunning coastline isn’t enough to convince you then maybe National Geographic Traveller voting Donegal the `Coolest Place on planet` in 2017 is? The coast of Donegal offers one of the best opportunity to see basking sharks – the gentle giants of the Irish coastline. 

County Monaghan is another Irish county that is unknown to many but definitely worth the trip. Monaghan’s many rivers and lakes attract anglers from all over the world, whilst golfers have a wide selection of courses to choose from. For the perfect family day out, Lough Muckno Leisure Park provides a range of outdoor activities including wakeboarding and orienteering. 

The cliffs of Moher are completely free to visit and offer some breathtaking views of some of the steepest cliffs in the world with the 600m drop not being for the faint-hearted.


Northwest - Gastronomy

Northwest Ireland has an abundance of seafood restaurants where you will be able to sample some fresh seafood dishes with whatever the local catch was on that particular day. The Olde Castle Bar and Red Hugh Restaurant is an award-winning traditional Irish bar and Fish restaurant which offers the best place to try some of this local seafood.
