Dar Baraka Karam

The group that runs Marrakech Riads, of which Dar Baraka is one of its gems, certainly has the right philosophy – to share the architectural splendours of old Marrakech by renovating 16th and 17th century houses, riads and palaces for discerning travellers to enjoy.
The Dar Baraka is one of its places par excellence. Just the name is special as it means the “House of Luck” or “Divine blessing” in Arabic and as soon as you pass its thick white walls, you will be transported to a place of peace and tranquility, despite being only a 10 minute walk from the bubbling and emblematic Jemma El Fna square.
What will be the first thing to catch your eye? Perhaps the wonderful courtyard garden, or maybe the serenity of it all.
Then again, it may be the excellent use of fabrics and colour used throughout the five bedrooms, where cushions, lavender shutters with iron covers and the original bathrooms all point to a well an extremely well looked after house.
Lastly, it may be the rooftop with excellent views of Marrakech and beyond. It’s our bet that it will be all these things plus a few others you will discover on your own. One to really enjoy.
