Riyad Al Moussika

It has been said more than once that getting to meet Giovanni, the wonderful host of Riyad Al Moussika, is reason enough to visit Marrakech. Such is his hospitality, “nothing is too much” attitude and story telling capacities that guests tend to fall line, hook and sinker. Of course, there are other fabulous motives to visit this vibrant and unique city. But if you do decide to come, the Riyad Al Moussika will be great choice.
Notwithstanding Giovanni, there’s the place itself, which was once the residence of the former pasha of Marrakech. The Riyad Al Moussika has since been refurbished to an extremely high standard, with rigorous respect for the Andalusian style, whilst paying great attention to modern accessories. What is the end result? Truly high levels of comfort. Situated in the ancient Medina of Marrakech, it is also only a five minutes’ walk from the emblematic Jemaa El Fna square, so location is also first rate, as this is the place where everything happens, and this being Marrakech, it seems to do so all at once.
One of the three entrances is also approachable very closely by car and comes with a parking area - unusual for such a centrally located place. At the side of the garden there is also a large traditional Moroccan court, with an amazing wall fountain in traditional zelliges mosaic, the floor tiled in black and white marble, another white Carrara fountain standing on a carpet of Moroccan mosaics is surrounded by four orange trees, encircled on one side, by a loggia in front of a dining room with a fire place, a white marble floor, painted cedar ceiling, a selection of modern paintings and a long parade table in cedar with twelve places.
On the other side, by a Moroccan styled dining-reception room, you get the typical sofas, cushions, carpets, small oriental tables and chairs. There is even a Turkish bath in white marble with a relaxation room where, on request, a professional masseur can take care of the guests. We can go on, but we’ll let you discover them for yourselves.
