Situated in one of the loveliest ports of the Cantabrian coast - Mundaka - this two-storey hotel started off life as a fisherman's house. It has since been converted into a small and unpretentious hotel that offers unparalleled views over the sea and mouth of the river. We certainly recommend booking a room with a view of the port, it is well worth it.
Those that manage to take their eyes off the vista will notice that Mundaka plays host to many surfers, for this is surfing region par excellence that rightly attracts practitioners of the sport from all over the world. Perhaps because of this Mundaka has a laid back feel to it and this is reflected in the hotel itself. The interior is simple so don’t expect luxury or refinement.
El Puerto is certainly a good base from which to explore the region and its many delights. The magnificent Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, for example, is only half an hour drive away. Wonderful countryside and coastlines are within easy reach too.
Before trekking off, however, don’t forget to try breakfast, weather permitting, on the terrace and enjoy the view.
Perfect double aspect seaview room comfy bed ,nice bathroom good shower.Easy access to bar ,terrace and port.Free parking nearby if you’re lucky enough to get a spot.We had great dinner in Casino mundaka

Very nice little boutique hotel in the middle of the center. Very friendly people and a good service. Unfortunately a little bit loud. All in all we spent a very nice and relaxing week at Hotel Puerto.

A fun, atmospheric little hotel that gazes out upon the active and colorful waterfront of Mundaka, Spain. We enjoyed our visit to the hotel thoroughly, and particularly like the lively patio and hustle and bustle of the sea walk. Our rooms overlooked the ocean and were clean and pleasant. This friendly little hotel has a great deal of character; you almost feel like you have stepped back in time to the 1960s and are sitting on a movie set, as you join other patrons on the patio in drinking an evening pastis and laughing at the kids jumping from the docks into the water.

The hotel was hard to find and we were given no welcome. Staff were off hand and did not offer any help or information. Noise was a problem, mainly from other guests slamming doors, but we could also hear snoring through the wall from the next room. Quite disappointing overall. Would not stay again.
