Casa Melchior offers two charming apartments in the heart of Portimão, where art and design blend to create a truly immersive experience. These thoughtfully curated spaces combine modern comfort, contemporary art, and the traditional charm of Portuguese aesthetics. The vibrant works of Dutch artist Meinke Flesseman fill every corner of the house with creative energy. Carefully selected art pieces and delicate objects give the space the atmosphere of a living gallery, achieving a perfect balance between functionality and beauty. The minimalist design of white walls and floors allows the colours and textures of the artwork to stand out, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Let's talk about the two apartments:

Casa Melchior 1 welcomes you with two spacious bedrooms, both with king-sized beds and en-suite bathrooms equipped with walk-in showers and heated floors for extra comfort. The living area is perfect for unwinding, featuring a cosy lounge, a dining room that seats six, and a fully equipped kitchen to make you feel at home. Additionally, there's an outdoor lounge area where you can enjoy the sunny Portimão weather in peace.

Casa Melchior 2 offers a more spacious setting, making it ideal for larger groups or families. It also includes two master bedrooms with bathtubs, an additional bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a guest WC. The heart of the apartment is the living room, complete with a fireplace for cosy evenings, and a dining area that accommodates eight people. This apartment also has a fully equipped kitchen and a charming outdoor patio where you can dine or relax in the open air.

Renting Together: The Full House

For larger groups or family gatherings, Casa Melchior 1 and Casa Melchior 2 can be rented together, comfortably accommodating up to eight guests. This combination offers the perfect balance of private and shared spaces, ideal for creating special moments without compromising on comfort or privacy.

In addition, for groups of up to 12 people, the Melchior Cocoon is available, providing two extra en-suite bedrooms and its own outdoor lounge. However, the Cocoon can only be rented alongside both apartments, ensuring an exclusive and private experience for larger groups.

What about Portimão?

Portimão may not be the most picturesque city in the Algarve, but it has a distinct charm and authenticity. Once famous for its fishing industry, the town has expanded somewhat haphazardly, with modern development obscuring some of its natural beauty. Nevertheless, there are still pockets of appeal to be found, such as the old town, where narrow streets and bustling squares invite exploration, or the municipal market, perfect for picking up fresh seafood and local products. Sometimes, it's this very blend of modernity and chaos that gives places like Portimão their charm and authenticity, making it a distinctive destination in the Algarve where the soul of the region is still very much alive.

Just a short distance away lies the quaint village of Ferragudo, on the opposite bank of the river, ideal for a peaceful day trip. 

Additionally, there are several lovely beaches nearby for swimming and sunbathing, offering a peaceful retreat from the city's lively atmosphere.
