Barcelona, the most fun-loving and interesting of all cities, doesn’t have that many secrets left, but the Circa 1905 Boutique Hotel is probably one of them, and we’re not sure for how long. Its name gives the fact away that it was built at the turn of the last century in the central district of Eixample, a few metres from the Paseo de Gracia and buildings such as Gaudi’s La Pedrera and Casa Batlló. It is located in a privileged location, from which you can enjoy the major works of Catalan modernism, great restaurants and exclusive shops.
It has only nine rooms, which have all been renovated by mixing old and new styles. This means you will find Egyptian cotton sheets and those comfortable mod cons such as Wi-Fi, air conditioning etc. The effect is a home away from home, which you will prefer to stay in rather than an overcrowded hotel. Especially so, as the staff is exceedingly friendly and doesn’t treat you simply as a number.
We had a wonderful stay at Circa 1905.
The room was spacious, comfortable and immaculately presented. It was everything we hoped for from the description.
We had prior communication from staff about our arrival and instructions were clear and presented no problems.
We were greeted by Xavier who showed us round and shared arrangements for breakfast. It was great to be able to collect our breakfast on a tray and have it on the sunny terrace of our room.
All the staff were friendly and helpful going the "extra mile" in some cases. Xavier helped in printing off our tickets for the Sagrada Familia and the receptionist on duty the day before our departure booked us a taxi and even made a personal alarm call on her phone at 6.30 a. m.!
We would highly recommend Circa 1905 as a quiet place to get away from the bustle of the city yet being at the heart of it.
Thank you to everyone for making our stay memorable.

Circa 1905 is really a special hotel: you only find the address at the door and have to ring:
it is a spacious appartment with only a couple of rooms which are brillantly restored with modern
bath rooms, little balconies, ice furniture, just around the corner of Paseig Garcia (Casa Batllo etc.).
We were really marvelled by the charme of this little hotel, the very friendly and helpful staff,
the breakfast in the "dining room", the calm and charming atmosphere there.
We will surely come back next time we are in Barcelona.
A hotel for people who are looking for a charming, quiet spot in this vibrant city!
Fabulous hotel!

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon; we both liked the fact that it was small and hidden away! We also liked the slightly quirky "retro" style.. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating! It is well-placed for exploring Barcelona.
Enjoyable stay

Charming, character property in a great location. We had a terrace room. The terrace was lovely, but the bathroom could do with major renovation. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good.
