A beautiful mix of the old and new in Jerez de la Frontera, the capital of sherry. Many luxury hotels tend to be somewhat formal or overly servile, but not so the Hotel Palacio Garvey. Here, you have utter exclusivity and top notch service without a hint of stuffiness. Built in 1850 as the residence of the Countess of Garvey, it is located right in the historic quarter of Jerez de la Frontera, the beautiful and renowned capital of sherry making. Its 19th century classical facade does not hint at what is to be found inside, which basically can be summed up as a superb renovation embodying the refinement of old furniture and pieces with the functionality of the best in modern decor.

Indeed, despite it its 19th century origins, the place is very young at heart. It has all the facilities and services one could hope for and, notwithstanding the beautiful building and wonderful decoration, what sticks in the mind just as much is the friendliness of the place, its pampered service and informal ambience. The end result is an utterly pleasant and relaxing stay. As for the rooms, all 16 are very spacious and decorated in a modern and sophisticated manner with large beds, modern bathrooms that include a hydro-massage spa bath, wooden floors and air-conditioning. The inner Andalusian patio is a beautiful place to pass away the time and perhaps drink a sherry. To stay at the Palacio Garvey in the heart of Jerez de la Frontera and not to partake in one of the world’s fine wines would be sacrilege indeed.

Hotel is HIGHLY recommended. Central location, friendly staff, and beautiful rooms. Jr Suite is luxurious and a good value compared to standard rooms.

Enjoyed the great location, quirky decor, general ambience, good breakfast and the availability of parking . Staff friendly and efficient. Loved the jaccuzi claw footed bath - only recommendation is to improve the shower attachment which doesn't function well . overall a lovely stay in what qualifies for a "secret place"

6 good friends stayed at this hotel for a short break of 2 nights. The hotel lived up to all expectations as it was very clean, well furnished, beds were extremely comfy and the whole ambiance was good. Very quiet. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was brilliant, so much on the table it was difficult to decide what to eat.

All very satisfactory and staff were very accommodating. Room was a bit dark but that is just an observation. Would definitely recommend

This beautiful old building has a fantastic location at the mid point between the Equestrian School and the Cathedral making both easy walks from the hotel. The interior is bright and clean with plenty of spaces for relaxing. The food (we only had 4 breakfasts there) was good and beautifully presented. The room was a little too modern for us but I understand hotels choosing this design because of its simplicity to keep clean. We would also have liked a little more light in the room at nights. the room was very big but had no ceiling lighting only two bed side lights a desk light and two standard lamps. Staff were always kind and helpful and appeared to enjoy their work. As my Spanish is limited it was great (but embarrassing) that they all spoke excellent English. I would stay again.
