Bed & Breakfast
typeBed & Breakfast
This is the real deal, the authentic stuff – a true masseria in Puglia, made completely out of local stone and a testimony to the ancient civilization of Apilia and Salento.
Its history hasn’t precluded it from becoming today a great bed & breakfast just three kilometers from the Adriatic Sea. It is also located in the “Costa Otranto - Santa Maria di Leuca e Bosco di Tricase” Natural Park, one of the most unspoiled natural parks in Salento and Apulia.
While we’re at it, it is also only some 3 km from the famous ancient villages of Specchia, considered to be one of the 100 most ancient villages in Italy. And for Italy, that really is saying something.
In effect, on top of the history of the place, it is a great starting point to visit and discover Puglia in all its glory.
Thankfully, the rooms are still based on the original rural structure and have kept the ancient shapes and atmospheres of the place. They simply ooze atmosphere and character and that goes for the public areas too which are full of sunny patios and shelters and charming garden.
Everything has been preserved, respected and enhanced. The work of skilled local artisans enabled to preserve the stone fireplaces, the niches dug out in the walls, the water tanks and the ancient vaults, signs of a humble peasant life, long gone.
And by the way, the pictures on offer really don’t do the Masseria Uccio justice. Make the most of it and the surrounding areas.
